If you aren't perfect, you need Jesus. Matt. 21:31-32

Jesus said to them, Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
This is the Word that everyone needs to hear again. God didn't come to earth to save the righteous who practice the Religion of the Law (Mark 2:17). God came to earth to save the sinners who practice the Religion of the Gospel (John 7:38). God didn't come to earth to save the religious who think they are good people (Matt. 3:7-8). God came to earth to save those who will listen to him (John 8:47).

Hear the truth of God: No one who is righteous. No one is faithful. No one is good enough. No one who can find favor with God. No one!

We stink at Christianity.

We ... are ... failures.

So, turn! Turn and repent, Jesus is declaring. The Messiah has come.

Did you miss the signs, like the chief priests and the elders in today's verse? Jesus has been showing us those clues now for almost three years. Malachi's prophecy (Mal. 4:5) came true. John the Baptist was the voice of one calling in the desert (Mal. 3:1), as Jesus reminded us in Matt. 17:12-13. John, like Ezekiel (Eze. 33:10-11) and Solomon (1 Kings 8:46-47) and Jeremiah (Jer. 15:19), and then years later, Peter (Acts 2:38), called on us to turn to God, repent and believe.

Did you miss God's call?

Jesus came to free prisoners of sin, like the prostitutes and tax collectors above, like the thief on the cross (Luke 23:43), like the woman caught in adultery (John 8:11). Every sin of every believer will be forgiven (Matt. 12:31-32). The righteous ... well, they think they don't need to repent (Matt. 23:16).

Do you fit that category? Have you found yourself worshiping money? Have you found yourself lusting for someone else? Have you dishonored Mom and or Dad? Have you lied?

Or maybe you just think you are one of the righteous ones?

Believe (Matt. 10:32).
